Ute Hille discovers her photographic inspirations on her way to the city.

A landscape along the road becomes a visual field of experimentation.

The horizon beckons, becoming a living surface promising fresh takes on time and space, poetry and reality.

Plants, in all its mutability, are revealed in its splendor and light seemingly following a preprogrammed plan.

Congested city traffic gives way to a decelerated view of an illuminated sea of cultivated fields, screened, colour saturated and protected under transparent nets.

Orderly, industrial scenes are rendered unpredictable like visual music which she alone hears and translates into images with her camera.

Slight derivations and the unusual draw her attention, which she, in turn, captures.

Changing weather and seasons only add to the rich variation of her output.

Ute, like her plant subjects captures every subtle change in the atmosphere and intensity of the sun’s light and movement.

Her work reveals the everyday business of the agricultural/horticultural domain but infuses it with wonder and otherworldliness.

An almost desert like atmosphere is generated by closeups of nets and tarpaulins that flow out and extend to the horizon. In doing so she opens up newly discovered spaces where ubiquitous irrigation channels provide natural framing for the fields.

Ute Hille turns the prosaic into poetry.

This project renders the most commonplace scenery into fluid, dynamic even dramatic oeuvres which reverberate with an almost surreal energy.
